• Set up your profile (display name, bio, profile photo, borough, neighborhood preferences)
• Create a sublet listing (photos, description, price, dates, neighborhood, building amenities)
• Communicate with other users (messages and any media attached)
• Contact us for support
• Submit a report about a listing, user, or message

Information Automatically Collected

When you use SBLT, we may automatically collect:

• Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• Usage data (features used, time spent in app, interaction patterns)
• Log data (access times, screens viewed, app crashes)
• Approximate location at the city level, used to show relevant listings. SBLT does not track precise location.

Information from Sign-In Providers

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information you authorize (typically name and email). We do not request or collect access to your contacts, social connections, or any other data from these providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Display sublet listings and connect users who are looking with users who are sharing
• Enable messaging between users
• Send you notifications about messages and account activity
• Improve and optimize our services
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

With Other Users

When you use SBLT, some of your information becomes visible to other users:

• Your display name, bio, profile photo, and listing history appear on your profile
• Your sublet listings appear in the Explore feed and can be searched by other users
• When you message another user, they can see your profile and any messages you send
• Listings display neighborhood and borough only. Your exact address is never shown publicly. You can choose to share it with another user after you both agree to connect.

With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate SBLT:

• Cloud hosting and storage
• Analytics services
• Push notification services
• Crash and error reporting

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties
• We do not share your data with advertisers for targeted advertising
• We do not process payments between users. SBLT is not a payment intermediary.
• We do not access your contacts, social network, or any data outside what you provide directly

4. Your Privacy Controls

SBLT gives you control over your information:

• Profile Privacy: Control what information appears on your profile and edit it at any time
• Address Privacy: Your exact address is never displayed publicly. Choose if and when to share it with another user.
• Notifications: Manage push notification preferences in your device settings or in the app
• Blocking: Block any user to prevent further contact
• Reporting: Report a listing, user, or message that violates our community guidelines
• Account Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Secure authentication through Apple, Google, or password
• Regular security assessments
• Access controls limiting who can access your data

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Sublet listings are automatically removed after their end date passes. Conversations remain accessible to both participants for as long as both accounts are active.

7. Children's Privacy

SBLT is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a user under 18, we will delete that information promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your personal information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability
